Binh Thuan Accelerates Infrastructure Development, Paving the Way for North-South High-Speed Railway Connection

On March 13, Binh Thuan Party Secretary Nguyen Hoai Anh chaired a meeting on the development of a VND 7 trillion (approx. $280 million) road project connecting the province’s railway stations to the North-South high-speed railway. This strategic initiative aims to maximize Binh Thuan’s infrastructure advantages and drive strong economic growth.

Unlocking Binh Thuan’s Potential with High-Speed Rail Connectivity

The North-South High-Speed Railway is a $67.43 billion project stretching from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, passing through 20 provinces, including Binh Thuan, with a 156 km route and two major stations: Phan Thiet and Phan Ri. A key component of this initiative is the construction of an 11 km road linking Phan Thiet Station to the city center, which will enhance regional connectivity and unlock new development zones around Phan Ri Station.

According to Binh Thuan People’s Committee Chairman Do Huu Huy, early investment in infrastructure will leverage land availability, attracting industrial investors. Similarly, Nguyen Huu Trung, Director of Binh Thuan’s Transport Project Management Board, highlighted that this road will integrate with the eastern expressway, existing railway systems, and future metro lines, creating a high-tech industrial corridor connected to the Mui Ne National Tourism Zone.
